TECHNICAL EDITOR

Description: New Medicine is seeking a full-time Technical Editor in the Orange County, CA area for its Internet-based resource, the Oncology KnowledgeBASE (nm|OK). The Oncology KnowledgeBASE is a web-based database marketed globally to the biotech/pharmaceuticals and investment sectors. This position involves understanding and conveying highly technical, scientific, and clinical information. A high volume of information is to be processed on a routine basis.

Requirements:

  • College degree plus one year experience
  • Science background and editorial experience in cancer and related areas
  • Familiarity with computer-based data management
  • Exceptional writing/editorial skills
  • Orange County location; must work on the premises
  • Occasional travel

MARKETING AND SALES

Description: Professional sales and marketing position promoting New Medicine's internet-based database, Oncology KnowledgeBASE (nm|OK), and hard-copy publication, Future Oncology. The job entails understanding highly technical, scientific, and clinical information and conveying such data to customers during online demonstrations of the database, maintaining phone and email contact with clients and prospective clients, and expanding the product’s market. Position also involves a comprehensive maintenance of updated information on target customers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BS/BA from an accredited University, preferably with a science background
  • Familiarity with computer-based marketing techniques and databases (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Access, ACT, etc.)
  • Strong telephone presentation and organizational and communication skills

This opportunity offers:

  • Flexible hours in our offices
  • Upward of $60,000 in salary and commissions with significant upside for capable producers
  • Independent contractor opportunity based on commissions only, if preferred
